Dinner @ Sitar Indian Restaurant, Mount Eden

My NZ family and I decided to go out of West Auckland to have dinner on 21 August 2013. I was shocked to find that they serve $12 meals every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Really, really awesome considering that Indian meals generally start from $16, at least here in Auckland. Plus, the meals already include rice with an option for naan bread if you prefer.

Dad ordered Chicken Sitar, which is boneless chicken prepared with a special secret gravy.

My honey ordered Dal Makhani, which is a blend of lentils and herbs cooked on charcoal fire, finished with cream.

Mum and I ordered Butter Chicken, which is boneless chicken pieces cooked in tandoori, then prepared with a creamy tomato gravy.

We had a bowl of rice and a basket of plain naan bread to go with our mains.

I also ordered Mango Lassi, a popular Indian drink smoothie made with mango and yoghurt.

I love their Butter Chicken. It’s much sweeter than that in Chapati Indian Restaurant in Henderson. I love that it’s only $12 for each person, and that already includes rice and plain naan. I will definitely come back here.
